Deputy Principal - Administration

The Maasai National Polytechnic is located in Kajiado town– capital city of Kajiado County. It is seventy-six (76) KMs south of Nairobi along the Great North Road (Class “A”) traversing from Johannesburg south Africa to Cairo in Egypt- along the Nairobi-Athi River-Namanga road. It is approximately one (1) hour drive from the Nairobi capital center. Some of the landmarks of our neighborhood are the Kajiado High Court and the governor of Kajiado County residence. The national polytechnic boasts of virgin environment that is the most conducive for learning in the republic of Kenya.

The polytechnic rides on a rich history of evolution from a technical school (Masai Technical School)- established in 1975 to Masai Technical Training Institute (1985) and currently as a Polytechnic (2023) with an expanded mandate to Train, Assess and Certify (Certification).

The polytechnic is managed by a council appointed by the cabinet secretary in charge of education at the top, the senior management (the principal, deputy principal administration, deputy principal academic affairs, the registrar and the dean of trainees), heads of departments and sections. As key stakeholders, the trainees also participate in management through their elected council members in regularly conducted consultative meetings.

In addition, to perfect the pursuit of excellence and relevance, inclusivity, diversity and compliance, the polytechnic has formulated over seventy (70) policies that primes the decision-making trajectory thus eliminates ambiguity and promotes reliability of the polytechnic’s efficiency and effectiveness.

To ensure an unadulterated service, the polytechnic has adapted a Quality Management System (QMS) which we improve continuously from time to time in order to be abreast with the dynamic environment. This has enabled us to be a leader in providing and delivering TVET programs. we are committed to continued improvement and timely renewal of ISO: 9001 certifications. Our sustained excellent performance is attributed to teamwork of highly trained and qualified staff, leadership with people acumen and commitment to the utmost good of our customers and communities we reach out to.

To ensure relevance and competitiveness of our output and our programs, we have established over ten (10) linkages and collaborations with the industries cutting across different manufacturing sectors. This promises our trainees and stakeholders current skills that are in sync with the prevailing market needs at the same time exploring tomorrow.
